Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai has today made a major announcement regarding the upcoming game’s soundtrack and other audio miscellany.
While the Smash Bros. series has been known to remix some of Nintendo’s most iconic music pieces for its stages, it was revealed on Miiverse’s “pic of the day” for Friday that there will also be original compositions coming to Smash 4. These tracks will be available to players through a specific section of the game and will also factor into a personal soundtrack that smashers can create for their game based on pieces they select.
Series fans who crave more pre-release info will also have something to look forward to as Sakurai went on to announce that the franchise’s official website, smashbros.com, will continually reveal the songs to be featured in the game up until its launch.
Super Smash Bros. is set for release on October 3 on Nintendo’s 3DS handheld; the Wii U version will follow sometime in December.
- Skyward Sword villain, Ghirahim, was announced as an assist trophy on Thursday’s picture of the day.
