After a successful Kickstarter campaign under the working title ‘Spirit,’ Qora will be released September 25 through Steam and other digital distributors. Publisher Curve Digital announced the release date today through a new trailer.
The retro-style game tasks players with exploring a mysterious temple filled with magical surprises. Part game, part tribute, Qora is expected to honor its adventure gaming roots while carving out its own spot in the indie gaming landscape.
Qora marks indie filmmaker Holden Boyles’ first foray into game design. With his entrance, Boyles is bringing a narrative-based mindset blended with his own art and music for a truly artistic experience.
If the teaser trailer is any indication, the game will be beautiful for pixel art fans, and Curve promises plenty of landscapes for players to enjoy.
The game raised $10,692 during its run on Kickstarter last April, more than twice its goal of $4,000. The amount passed two stretch goals which means Qora is twice as long as Spirit was intended to be. Assuming it is successful, there are plans for a second game based on the results of the original Kickstarter.
Qora will be available for both PC and Mac.
