With a little over a month to go until the latest instalment of the WWE video game franchise lands on new-generation consoles for the first time, information about the addition of new features and gameplay upgrades has been tightly controlled by publishers 2K Games.
Grappling fans are sure to be excited, therefore, by today’s developments. Earlier, gaming trophy and achievement tracking website Exophase listed the achievements for the Xbox 360 version of WWE 2K15.
One item of particular interest is the ‘Foundation of the Future’ achievement, unlocked by attaining an A grade or better in Proving Ground. Alongside an icon featuring the NXT logo, this achievement seems to confirm rumours that the WWE’s developmental league is set to be featured in 2K15.
The fact that the achievements listed are for the 360 release is also of importance, as developers have previously confirmed that MyCareer mode will not be present in last-gen versions of the game. This seems to suggest towards NXT/Proving Ground being included as a separate game mode, therefore, rather than as part of the main career as had previously been thought.
Additionally, the icons and descriptions for the ‘Road to Wrestlemania’, ‘Next Generation’ and ‘NXT Takeover’ achievements seem to confirm the addition of three superstars not yet officially revealed: The Ultimate Warrior, Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn respectively.
WWE 2K15 is due for release on the PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 on October 28.
