Multiplayer shooter T.E.R.R.A. launches Kickstarter campaign

Irish development studio Starcave Entertainment have today launched a Kickstarter campaign for their upcoming first-person shooter/real-time strategy mashup, T.E.R.R.A. (Terra Extra-terrestrial Rapid Response Assault).

Set in a post–World War 3 universe, terraforming is key to the survival of humanity in T.E.R.R.A, with Earth’s survivors having to resort to transforming Jupiter’s Galilean moons into habitable zones. The game’s antagonists come in the form of an alien species, The Maraud, who are intent on putting up a fight for control over the solar system.

According to its developers, T.E.R.R.A. is primarily a competitive team-based FPS, but also allows players to instantly jump into an RTS system at any time in order to build resources, construct defences, and develop more in-depth tactics.

The PC/Mac multiplayer shooter comprises a number of game modes: including Deathmatch, Escape, Conquest, Arena and Formations; each of which take a different approach to merging the game’s first-person shooter and real-time strategy elements.

Having previously been given the go-ahead on Steam Greenlight, the Kickstarter campaign has an initial goal of €25,000 and will run until Thursday, November 20.
