Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare goes on sale

The Day Zero edition of the newest entry in the hugely popular Call of Duty franchise, Advanced Warfare, is now on sale.

Last night, thousands of gamers queued at over 300 stores across the UK to be among the first in the world to get their hands on the title.

Retail giant GAME gave fans of the series the chance to get involved in the action with giveaways, raffles and hands-on time with the game ahead of its midnight launch.

Those fans who made it down to the chain’s flagship Stratford store received even more special treatment, including the chance to play the game in a 66 player purpose built pod and listen to an exclusive interview and development tips from Michael Condrey, co-founder of Sledgehammer Games.

Charlotte Knight, category director at GAME, said: “We were incredibly lucky to be able to offer gamers the great opportunity to get hold of the game as soon as possible. A Day Zero edition of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is like a golden ticket to early gameplay for many players, offering them an extra 24 hours in the field.”

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, developed by Sledgehammer Games, envisions the powerful battlegrounds of the future, where both technology and tactic have evolved to usher in a new era of combat for the franchise. Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey stars as Jonathan Irons – one of the most powerful men in the world – shaping this chilling vision of the future of war.

The standard edition of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be released on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3 from tomorrow (November 4).
