During Sony’s keynote presentation at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last night, Tony Hawk confirmed he is to star in a new video game, due out later in 2015.
The legendary skater was brought onstage to showcase and discuss Sony’s competitor to the Go-Pro: A 4K fit-in-your-hand camcorder called the Action Cam. As he was wrapping up his presentation with Sony Electronics’ COO Mike Fasulo, Hawk then announced that fans can expect “a new console game this year – on PlayStation 4, of course”.
Withholding the name and release date for embargo’s sake, Hawk teased journalists in attendance by promising the game sometime late this year, with a title “that’s got ‘TH’ in it”. He also expressed his excitement at how quickly the game’s development was coming along.
This will be the first console release in the Tony Hawk series of games since the 2012 Pro Skater HD remake developed by Robomodo – with fans having to go back further still, to 2007, for the most recent new-release main series title, Proving Ground.
