Hot on the heels of today’s new Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End trailer, a slew of details have emerged about the game.
Naughty Dog have confirmed that Uncharted 4 will see the inclusion of an online multiplayer mode, while Nathan Drake’s long lost brother, Sam, will act as a primarily AI companion to players – somewhat similar to Ellie in The Last of Us.
Fans’ fears that competitive play wouldn’t return as the series transitions to PS4 have been allayed by the news, which comes out of Game Informer’s preview of the game in the February issue of their magazine.
The preview also confirms that two rival hunters, Rafe and Nadine, will appear, while the game is set to feature additional side stories and multiple optional paths to explore. For example, one pathway may have Drake directly confront a group of enemies, while another may give him a more peaceful but equally perilous route in which he must climb up a jagged rock face – where one mistimed jump will equal certain death.
GI’s earlier trailer for their coverage of the title included comments from co-directors Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley – as well as a few pearls from Nolan North, who has portrayed protagonist Nathan Drake throughout the series.
