NightCry, originally known as Project Scissors, now has a live action trailer. Directed by Takashi Shimizu, best known for creating the Ju-on series, the short teaser heralds the upcoming “spiritual successor” to the Clock Tower franchise, which will see a release on iOS, Android and PlayStation Vita.
Original series creator Hifumi Kouno has partnered with Shimuzu, who will serve as creative producer for the upcoming horror release – with both collaborating on the game’s story. Masahiro Ito, known for his work on the Silent Hill franchise, is also on board.
NightCry was originally announced last September during the Toyko Game Show. Set aboard a luxury cruise liner in the middle of the ocean, a series of mysterious killings befall the passengers who have no means of escape. Stranded at sea, the player must solve the mystery while keeping themselves, and the other passengers, alive.
