Yesterday, a developer behind EA’s Mass Effect series revealed that the next installment in the franchise will include some form of online connectivity.
Chris Wynn, the senior development director behind the project, tweeted out that production on the title is now getting serious, and that he is looking for someone to helm the game’s online component.
The job listing itself is for Bioware Montreal in Canada and includes even more telling details. Listed as a key responsiblity is the ability to “create and champion the vision of the multi-player, connected experiences and online features…”, more or less confirming the return of multiplayer first brought into the franchise in Mass Effect 3. This is further supported by another clause listing the prospective producer as being responsible for “strategic oversight and operating live services” after the game is launched.
We’re still in the dark as to when we can expect to see the game, but last April we learned that the game was past the halfway mark in its development.
