Grand Theft Auto fans will have to take the bad news with the good today, on the back of a major double announcement by Rockstar.
The good news is that the long-delayed Heists game mode for GTA Online finally has a firm release date, having being officially revealed last month. By way of the Rockstar Newswire, the publisher thanked fans for their patience, and confirmed that the four-player co-op mode will land on the console versions of GTA V on March 10.
The bad news is that the PC release of Grand Theft Auto V has been delayed yet again. Originally scheduled to launch alongside the PS4 and Xbox One re-releases of the game last year, the title has suffered from a protracted development cycle, having been pushed back twice before.
Both the retail and digital download forms of the game are now scheduled to release on April 14, with Rockstar stating that it needs “a bit more time… to ensure that the game is as polished as possible”. It also confirmed that it will award anyone who pre-ordered the game with an additional $200,000 of in-game cash as a gesture of goodwill.
Are you excited about Heists finally receiving a release date? Or perhaps you’re too busy being annoyed by the PC version of GTA V being delayed yet again? Let it all off your chest in the comments below.
