Square Enix has today made three important announcements regarding the PS4 release of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD – its launch date, a coupled exclusive steelbook case, and the low-down on some new features in the remastered game.
The title will release on May 15 in Europe, May 14 in Australia, and in May 12 in North America. Fans will be able to grab it in store and on the PSN, and those who preorder the title will get the limited edition seen below. This version includes a stunning steelbook that features artwork from Yoshitaka Amano, who has designed many logos in the Final Fantasy series.
In terms of features, besides obvious graphical enhancements, players will be able to choose between the original or newly arranged music, and there is full cross-save compatibility.
But is this enough to get Final Fantasy fans to spend their cash on a pre-order? Although many may have missed out on the title on the PS3, we still must take into account that the HD edition of Final Fantasy Type-0 is coming out soon for the first time; many FF fans may have even ordered the pricey limited edition for that title.
