Developer NetherRealm has today made a couple of big announcements regarding the character roster for Mortal Kombat X.
The first sees classic horror movie star Jason Voorhees being introduced to the Mortal Kombat universe, following on from the Nightmare On Elm street killer Freddy in MK 9. Jason will be a part of the Kombat Pack season pass which adds a number of new characters and alternate costumes to the game.
This comes amidst rumours of the inclusion of a number of Predator characters and Todd McFarlane’s Spawn, based on a number of licensing agreements and less than subtle hints from Ed Boon’s Twitter feed.
Not only that, but an official trailer showcasing the Cage family was also unveiled recently, with divorced couple Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade featured alongside blind swordsman Kenshi, confirming all three as playable characters. Outworld sorcerer and series antagonist Shinnok was also present, but gameplay footage of the character in action has yet to be seen.
