Players picking up Borderlands: The Handsome Collection on its release tomorrow might have to wait a while before they can actually play the game, as huge day one patches have been revealed for both home console versions of the title.
The Xbox One version will require a 16GB download, while the PS4 update clocks in at 8.31GB. The bulk of this filesize is thought to be taken up by Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel’s most recent DLC, which was not completed in time to make it onto the disc.
In an update posted on the game’s official website, a spokesman said: “For The Handsome Collection, a large day-one update will be available giving access to Claptastic Voyage and Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2. This update will also address various bugs.
“Although the update is large, we strongly recommend that all players download it before playing The Handsome Collection.”
The 2K Games-published remastered bundle pairs together Gearbox’s Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, along with all released DLC for the two games. It also includes four-player splitscreen co-op for the first time, as well as the ability for series veterans to transfer over their existing saves from previous generation consoles.
