Mario Kart 8’s latest DLC will now launch later this month, ahead of its expected release date of May.
The Animal Crossing-themed pack will now be released on April 23, and will come complete with eight new courses, four new karts, and the Villager, Isabelle and Dry Bowser characters. The news comes via Nintendo president Satoru Iwata’s latest Direct presentation, which wrapped up just moments ago.
During the presser, the company unveiled a trailer showing off the Animal Crossing course, which will change seasons each time you play it – a nod to the feature seen in the hit series it is based on.
Furthermore, Nintendo confirmed the inclusion of a new 200cc mode, the fastest – and hardest – class ever included in a Mario Kart game. Players will have to master their braking in order to see off the competition in this challenging new option. 200cc will launch as a free update alongside DLC Pack 2 on April 23.
