Hot on the heels of WWE Wrestlemania 31, 2K Games have this week announced that they are to bring their flagship sports entertainment series to iOS and Android.
According to a press release, WWE 2K – which is being produced by WWE 2K15 co-developer Visual Concepts alongside handheld specialist n-Space – promises to offer “authentic WWE gameplay in a mobile format”, and will take inspiration from several gameplay elements utilised in its home console counterpart.
Currently announced features include three match types, full ring entrances, create-a-superstar options, a story-driven career mode, online multiplayer matches, unlockable rewards, and a playable roster made up of notable WWE superstars including John Cena, Hulk Hogan, Sting, Triple H, The Undertaker, Bray Wyatt, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose.
Greg Thomas, Visual Concepts president, said: “WWE 2K marks a great milestone in 2K’s partnership with WWE, as we bring the first authentic WWE simulation experience to market for mobile devices.”
WWE 2K is due for release this spring, and will carry a price tag of $7.99.
