Heavy hitter and US Special Forces veteran Jackson Briggs is set to feature as a playable character in Mortal Kombat X, marking his return to the popular fighting series.
The game will also see the introduction of ‘Jax”s daughter, Jacqueline. A new trailer released this week by publisher Warner Bros. shows off both fighters’ brutal X-Ray moves and fatalities:
Both father and daughter sport robotic arms that give them the ability to turn any opponent into an unsightly sludge, while Jacqueline appears to be the faster of the two.
Both characters have been teased in previous trailers, including a 30 minute glimpse into the story of MKX, but neither has been confirmed as a playable character until now.
With the roster for NetherRealm’s upcoming fighter now almost fully complete, we are left to wonder what has happened to the lost fighters. Power Up Gaming offers its condolences to the likes of Cyrax, Havik, Rain and others. May you murder in peace.
In a bizarre twist, System of a Down guitarist Shavo Odadjian has also been shown working on the game’s launch trailer, providing a musical score for turning your kombatants into ‘Chop Suey’ (sorry).
A playable Serj Tankian has not been confirmed.
Mortal Kombat: X will debut on April 14 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions were recently delayed until the summer.
