Techland’s Dying Light has finally received an official trailer for its enormous forthcoming DLC campaign, The Following.
The story-based expansion sees the return of protagonist Kyle Crane, who travels to a previously unexplored hazardous outback populated by a bizarre cult. The Following promises a number of key updates including branching mission objectives and, most importantly, a dirt buggy.
The minute-long clip features expansive vistas, new weapons including a stealthy crossbow, and the buggy making short work of large crowds of the infected.
In a press release sent out to accompany the reveal trailer, producer Tymon Smektala said:
Gamescom 2015 was our first chance to let people play Dying Light: The Following, so I was a bit nervous. But so many positive reactions really showed me we made the right decision to work on this expansion. With its new map and far-reaching gameplay additions, it feels like we’ve hit the sweet spot for what players are expecting from us.
Dying Light recently surpassed over 4.5 million unique users, while beating the sales figures of its predecessor Dead Island. This new expansion is said to be the largest of a healthy selection of additions to the vanilla game, and while a release date has not yet been set in stone, Techland has confirmed that it will be priced at $14.99 USD (and free to all season pass holders).
