Having only made the jump from the Australian NRL to the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers several months ago, cross-code convert Jarryd Hayne has today been officially confirmed for inclusion in EA Sports’ Madden NFL 16.
Hayne, who played for the Parramatta Eels throughout his eight-year rugby league career, was earlier unveiled as the featured player in the latest Madden Ultimate Team Mystery Box. With his key in-game stats ranging from 88 to 95, the former Eels fullback looks to be as impressive in video game form as he has been in pre-season fixtures for the 49ers thus far.
In a press release, an EA Sports spokesman said:
“EA Sports is excited to welcome Jarryd Hayne to the NFL. We’re celebrating the Aussie phenom, and self-professed Madden NFL fan, with a special Madden Ultimate Team item that’s available in-game right now.
“Fans who want to get Hayne on their squad should keep an eye out for fans looking to trade him for another player, or check out the auction house to see if he’s available there.”
