Update: Good news, UK rugby league fans! Alternative Software have reached out to inform us that, “At present, we do not think that this will affect us in the UK, with our date of September 17 (assuming no delays at Calais).”
Original (September 1): Rugby League Live 3 will not meet its slated Australian release date of September 10 on last-gen consoles, publisher Tru Blu Entertainment has today confirmed.
In an official press release, a spokesman for Home Entertainment Suppliers, Tru Blu’s parent company, said:
“Rugby League Live 3’s release date for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is still on track for September 10, but unfortunately Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will not be making that date.
At this stage, the new estimated date for old-gen will be anywhere between September 26 – September 24.
We are working with the manufacturers to expedite the process and we will keep you informed of the outcome.”
Meanwhile, on the game’s official forums, Ross Symons, founder and CEO of RLL3’s developers Big Ant Studios, reassured fans that he’d seen finished retail copies of the PS4 version of the game already, and that the Xbox 360 and PS3 delays were “obviously beyond our control” and caused by “a last minute hiccup”.
