Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments Sequel to be Unveiled During Paris Games Week

The sequel to 2014’s Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments is to be exclusively unveiled during Paris Games Week at the end of the month, it has been today confirmed.

The France-based BigBen Interactive, perhaps best (and most infamously) known for Rugby World Cup 2015, has secured a deal with developer Frogwares to publish the game, taking the franchise away from fellow French publisher Focus Home Interactive.

According to a press release distributed by the studio, the title is expected to be playable during the expo, which runs from October 28 to November 1. It will sit alongside BigBen’s upcoming sports games lineup of WRC 5: FIA World Rally Championship, Handball 16 and MXGP 2.

When the deal was initially signed back in May, Waël Amr, CEO of Frogwares, said: “We are delighted to team up on the development of a new Sherlock Holmes game with BigBen. We look forward to seeing this partnership flourish over the coming months, taking advantage of the energy they are ready to bring to the table. In our turn, we are committed to create an engaging content that will satisfy any gamer willing to challenge their inner Sherlock Holmes.”

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments received a thoroughly positive review here on Power Up Gaming upon its release, with our own Scott Russell describing it as a “beautifully made murder mystery game”. We’re keen, therefore, to see where Frogwares and BigBen take the franchise next. The as-of-yet untitled sequel is due to release in 2016.
