Looks like Everspace will arrive on Xbox One and Windows 10 in late 2016 according to an announcement on Xbox Wire. Everspace is described by developer Rockfish Games as an action-oriented, single-player, roguelike space-shooter with a non-linear story.
In an interview with Xbox Wire, Rockfish Games’ CEO Michael Schade states that the game borrows inspiration from games such as Freelancer, FTL, Rogue Legacy and the developer’s previous Galaxy on Fire games. Players will be able to earn credits throughout each run that can then be spent on perks, upgrades, and customization options.
The announcement was also accompanied by a video posted on the official Xbox YouTube channel. The video highlights impressive visuals and particle effects created using Unreal Engine 4.
Everspace will become part of Microsoft’s ID@Xbox program when it releases late 2016.
