Konami Reveals Metal Gear Solid 5’s Secret Ending and How It Is Unlocked

Phantom Pain

After reaching the conclusion of MGSV: Phantom Pain, many players have speculated that there is a secret ending to the game including theories that this ending may be very difficult to unlock. Well, it looks like these theories were spot on.

In a recent announcement, Konami not only informs players that there is in fact a secret ending but they detail how to unlock said ending. The specifications that must be fulfilled include the following:

  1. You must have completed Mission 31.
  2. You must not own or be currently developing a nuclear weapon. If you have any nukes in stock, you must dismantle them.
  3. Certain conditions related to nuclear proliferation must be met on the regional server for your corresponding gaming platform (PlayStation®4, PlayStation®3, Xbox One, Xbox 360®, PC(Steam®)).
  4. All nuclear weapons on the regional server corresponding to your console or platform must have been dismantled. In other words, the amount of nukes on your platform’s server must be equal to 0.

Unfortunately, it would take quite the group effort to unlock the ending as it may be unlikely that this information would reach everyone to complete the task. Fortunately, for those of us who do not wish to wait, it is speculated that this leaked video is the “secret ending” of which Konami mentions:

Do you think something like this, where the demands include collaboration by so many different individuals working together, are possible to meet? Or has Konami essentially made the secret ending impossible to unlock? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
