December is looking to be a fun month for fans of Rocket League as content will arrive at the beginning and the middle of the month. Developer Psyonix recently reported that both PC and PS4 players can expect Portal-themed items and Mad Max-themed “Chaos Run” DLC on December 1 before a hockey-inspired mode will be added on December 14.

Rocket League Portal

According to a recent announcement by developer Psyonix, they have teamed up with Valve to bring players customization items including rocket trails, antenna, and a car topper all for free. The full list includes the following:

  • Cake (Topper)
  • Conversion Gel (Rocket Trail)
  • Propulsion Gel (Rocket Trail)
  • Repulsion Gel (Rocket Trail)
  • Aperture Laboratories (Antenna)
  • Cake Sticker (Antenna)
  • Companion Cube (Antenna)
  • Personality Core (Antenna)
  • PotatOS (Antenna)

These items will be achievable via post-match item drops whether players win or lose matches. “All you have to do is keep playing until the match ends and your chance to earn a new Aperture-themed goodie of your very own.”

Rocket League Wasteland

In another recent statement, Psyonix also discussed Rocket League’s upcoming “Chaos Run” paid DLC. This will include the following items:

  • 2 New Battle-Cars, Ripper and Grog
  • 12 New Decals (six for each new Battle-Car)
  • 2 New Paint Types (Camo and Sun-Damaged)
  • 2 New Wheels (Ripper and Grog)
  • 2 New Rocket Trails (Sandstorm, Nuts and Bolts)
  • 3 New Toppers (Boombox, Cow Skull, Mohawk)
  • 3 New Antennas (Bomb Pole, Radioactive, Retro Ball – Wasteland)
  • 5 New Trophies

The DLC will be priced at “$3.99 (or its regional equivalent).” The DLC will also include a free, “non-regulation” arena titled Wasteland. Wasteland differentiates itself from other stadiums as it will be slightly wider, contained sloped terrain, and the boost placements will be completely different.

Rocket League Hockey

Lastly, but certainly not least, Rocket League will also be receiving the long-awaited new “hockey-inspired mutator mode” deemed “Snow Day” on December 14. In this mode, players will drive their vehicles on an ice field in an attempt to score a hockey puck rather than the game’s traditional ball. This addition will be free and also includes several “Winter Event” customization items:

  • “Xmas” Rocket Trail
  • “Blitzen” Topper
  • “Christmas Tree” Topper
  • “Sad Sapling” Topper
  • “Santa” Topper
  • “Candy Cane” Antenna
  • “Holiday Gift” Antenna

Developer Psyonix continues to frequently add downloadable content to Rocket League to both PS4 and PC versions. In recent conversations on Twitter, the developer has indicated that additional content continues to be in the works signifying that more may be on the way soon.
