Dark Souls 3 Gets New Gameplay Video, New Trailer, and Official Release Date

Dark Souls III

Dark Souls 3 will be released on April 12, 2016 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC according to information from Bandai Namco. This world-wide release date will be a few weeks after the game’s Japan release date of March 24.

The announcement came with an accompanied trailer for the game that features several various enemy types that will be faced within the game. It’s no surprise that the game appears to uphold its reputation as being a difficult franchise.

FromSoftware also posted gameplay footage featured in Sony’s upcoming PlayStation Experience. The brief amount of gameplay shown features several instances of notably malicious surprises for the player as they traverse the dangerous landscapes and encounter various deadly enemies.

Dark Souls 3 may be the last in the series. FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki recently stated in an interview that he considers Dark Souls 3 to be the “big closure on the series.” He also stated that “new types of games” will be coming from FromSoftware in their “evolution” moving forward.
