Original Pokémon Games Get Their Own 2DS

Remember Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow? Of course you do. Don’t forget Pokémon Green, which was released in Japan. The originals will not only soon be available in Nintendo’s eShop, but they’ll also have their own special 2DS systems with the respective game installed.

The consoles will release in Japan on February 27, 2016, the Pokémon series’ 20th anniversary. Also included along with the pre-installed games are some stickers and, far more importantly, a code to unlock Mew in Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire.

Or you could just transfer Mew from an eariler version. Just saying.

For the time being, these themed 2DS’s are only coming to Japan. But let’s face it. Buying an entire new system just for one game that will soon be available for virtual console? And these aren’t even the new and improved remakes. Smells like an attempt to milk a cash cow to me.
