The latest Call of Duty has officially been revealed today as Call of Duty Infinite Warfare. After a slew of marketing leaks, Activision has provided a brand-new trailer as well as a release date. This new entry in the first-person shooter series will take place on earth and in space, with CEO of Activision Publishing, Eric Hirschberg, stating that “This year we’re both honouring the heritage of Call of Duty while taking players to incredible new heights. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is a bold, new vision from the studio that created the original Call of Duty and Modern Warfare, and an adventure on an insanely epic scale that only Call of Duty could deliver.”
It’s also worth noting that a remastered version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will be bundled along with Infinite Warfare’s special editions. It will come with both its singleplayer campaign and 10 multiplayer maps, including Crash, Crossfire and Backlot. Raven Software, a developer that has dealt with multiple elements in past Call of Duty games, is making the remaster.
The content of each special edition was also detailed:
- Legacy Edition – Includes both Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered
- Digital Deluxe Edition – Includes Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered and Season Pass
- Legacy Pro Edition – Includes Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Season Pass, collectible Steelbook, official game soundtrack and additional digital items
Via a story on Polygon, it was later revealed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will not be sold separately.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is slated for a November 4 release on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
