Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster Coming to PC

Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 will be arriving on the PC on the 12th of May, according to a listing on Valve’s software platform, Steam. Gamespot reports that the epic RPGs will be released together as a remastered HD version.

The product page on Steam reveals that it will feature International Edition content, an auto-save feature, and “5 game boosters, including high speed and no encounter mode”. All characters, monsters, and environments will be rendered in HD, and all music will be remastered and rearranged. The minimum and recommended system requirements have also been revealed, as follows:

  • Processor: 2GHz Dual Core CPU
  • Memory: 1 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA Geforce 9600GT VRAM 512MB or later / ATI Radeon HD 2600XT VRAM 512MB or later
  • Storage: 37 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible Sound Card

  • OS: Windows Vista or later
  • Processor: 2.4GHz quad-core CPU
  • Memory: 2 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 450 / AMD Radeon HD 5750 with 512MB

The remastered version is already available for PS3, PS4, and PlayStation Vita. The original Final Fantasy X and X-2 were released in the US in December of 2001 and March of 2003, respectively. Final Fantasy X was the first PlayStation 2 title to reach 2 million and then 4 million copies sold, and Final Fantasy X-2 was the highest selling game of 2003, with just under 2 million copies sold. In 2013, it was reported that the two games had sold over 14 million copies worldwide on the PlayStation 2.
