The initial beta testing for upcoming mobile game Pokémon GO, originally only conducted in Japan, has since recently expanded to include other regions, Australia and New Zealand being the latest. Later this month, North America will also be allowed to search far and wide. Sign-ups for the test can be submitted here, but not everyone signs up will be given access to the beta.
There are a few terms attached to the beta. Obviously, participants are bound by confidentiality, the game is only available for certain Android and iOS devices only, data is non-transferable to the full release, and test data may be erased and reset periodically for undisclosed reasons. Testers will be selected based on device compatibility, prior gaming experience, and possibly at random.
Pokémon GO will release later this year.
