Bethesda finally revealed the long awaited look at the sequel to the cult hit, Dishonored. Set in Karncana, Dishonored 2 preserves the art style and the atmosphere that was introduced in the original with their use of the Void Engine.
The gameplay trailer opens up with you, as Emily Kaldwin, hosting a celebration for the former empress while walking alongside Corvo, the hero from the first Dishonored. As announced last year, players will have the option of playing either as Corvo or Emily.
The footage showed off new stealth elements such as spontaneous storms, masking your sight and sounds ala MGSV. We got to see a new ability wielded by Emily called Memorize, which can throw enemies in a trance as you pass by unnoticed. Her Far Reach ability, which was hinted at the cinematic reveal last year, boasts combat and traversal options. The former provides similar vertical options as Corvo’s Blink ability, however when used in combat, it allows her to draw enemies towards her while helpless. The “Shadow Walk” ability was shown in gameplay as well, as Emily dismembered an enemy without being seen.
Where the original Dishonored featured the Heart which revealed insight into character in the game, Dishonored 2 introduced a new tool, “The Outsider’s Time Piece “which allows the player to take a glimpse into the past, and phase through time effortlessly to solve puzzles.
Dishonored 2 will be released on November 11 2016, and it will be available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
