Gamer Network has revealed the feedback received from its EGX 2016 attendee survey and Battlefield 1, the latest in DICE’s massively popular FPS series, emerged on top and has been crowned EGX 2016 Game of the Show.
Attendees were treated to the latest playable multiplayer code over a month before Battlefield 1’s release on October 21.
Jacqui Ashworth, senior product marketing manager for DICE, said: “We’re delighted with the reaction from our players at EGX… we can’t wait for everyone to be able to play Battlefield 1. To be voted players’ Game of the Show, at the UK’s number one show, is a real honour and we thank everyone who voted.”
Bethesda’s Dishonored 2 took second place and Yooka-Laylee, which took seventh, was also the highest placed indie title.
EGX is the UK’s largest video games consumer, trade and careers event. Produced by Gamer Network, EGX features playable pre-release games on both PC and console, developer sessions by well known games designers and the opportunity to chat with developers on the show floor. Attendees were given access to over 200 playable games and brand new hardware such as PlayStation 4 Pro and all the major VR headsets.
