Harry Potter Spinoff Fantastic Beasts: Cases From the Wizarding World Heading to Mobiles

A new mobile title inspired by JK Rowling’s wizarding world is set to launch alongside the theatrical release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them next month.

Fantastic Beasts: Cases From The Wizarding World will see players take on the role of a new recruit at the Ministry of Magic, visiting familiar locations from the Harry Potter universe including The Leaky Cauldron, Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade. Developed by Mediatonic and WB Games San Francisco, the title is described as a “hidden objects” game, requiring users to investigate magical mysteries by analysing evidence, casting spells and brewing potions.

In a press release, David Haddad, Warner Bros. Interactive’s president, said: “We are delighted to bring fans a new mobile game inspired by J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, which invites players to discover their own fantastic beasts.

“Fantastic Beasts: Cases from the Wizarding World offers a fun, magical mobile experience to all players.”

The game will be free-to-play and feature social interaction through Facebook. Fantastic Beasts: Cases From The Wizarding World is due for release on November 17 for iOS and Android devices, hours before the premiere of its big-screen counterpart.
