Team-based space combat title Fractured Space is today celebrating reaching one million players with the release of a new Halloween-themed update.
According to a press release, the game’s Phase 1.5 patch will add a free crew member, a new support ship and a host of other content.
The newly added undead crew member, repair specialist Ridley J. Fincher, has been shown off in a trailer released alongside the today’s announcement. He will be free to every player who logs in from today until November 3.
Fractured Space will also see the inclusion of the support-based Zarek Centurion vessel, which brings a colossal projected forcefield into play that can shield itself and its allies from enemy attacks. Other updates include improvements to the game’s Frontline mode, the inclusion of a special Halloween moon in Gamma sector, and a host of balance changes and fixes.
The game, which officially launched a month ago as a free-to-play title after spending quite some time in early access, pits two teams of five giant ships against each other in MOBA-style matches that require teamwork and strategy as players work together to destroy the enemy’s team base.
Developer Edge Case Games promised that “many more features will continue to be added soon”, including ranked play.
Fractured Space currently holds a ‘generally favourable’ Metacritic rating of 80.
