Original Rayman Composer Launches Kickstarter Campaign for Remastered Album

Rayman

The composer of the official soundtrack for Rayman, the classic PS1 and Atari Jaguar 2D platfomer, has today launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for an album featuring rearranged versions of his original tracks.

French musician Rémi Gazel, who wrote 12 of the game’s 19 songs, is aiming to raise €50,000 for Rayman by Rémi – The Collector Soundtrack Album.

Reaching its base goal will see the release of a 12-track jazz and rock album, which will be available as a digital download, CD and vinyl LP, while stretch goals of €115,000 and €140,000, respectively, will see the Pixelophonia orchestra record the album and a six-track electro remix disc.

The project has been greenlit by Ubisoft – but the company will have no involvement in it.

The Kickstarter campaign runs until December 16, and a range of pledger incentives are available.
