Point-and-click adventure games are alive and well, and Italian developer Footprint is bringing its own feathery comic-noir twist on the genre to Steam next June with its debut game, Detective Gallo. A playable demo is already available for players to pick up.
The entirely hand-illustrated and puzzle-heavy adventure puts players in the shoes of a grumpy private eye as he investigates the murder of five prized and exotic plants by an unknown assailants.
Although Detective Gallo was Greenlit on Steam in only ten days, developers Footprints are still looking for ways to make improvements to the game in the lead-up to its release. The studio is currently seeking €15,000 through crowdfunding via Eppela to add more animations and detailed cutscenes.
Crowdfunders get access to several rewards, including a Detective Gallo poster signed by the developers, flashdrive, official t-shirt, and even another free game from publisher Adventure Productions’ catalogue.
Those interested in getting a sneak peek at what the game is all about can grab a copy of the demo here. There’s also a trailer below for the curious.
