At last night’s 2016 Game Awards, Gearbox Software unveiled its upcoming Bulletstorm remaster, Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition.
Those expecting the PS4, Xbox One and PC title to be priced similarly to other re-released games will be disappointed, however: Steam has listed the title for pre-order with an MSRP of $49.99 USD, while the Xbox Store has it priced at $59.99. While it’s not yet appeared on the PlayStation Store in North America, the UK store has its RRP set at £44.99 ($56).
While customers can save 15 percent by pre-purchasing the title ahead of its April 7, 2017 release, Bulletstorm’s retail price still seems steep for what is essentially a 2011 game with a fresh coat of paint.
In a press release, Gearbox’s Steve Gibson was more optimistic about the title. He said: “We are thrilled to be working with [original developer] People Can Fly to bring Bulletstorm to new audiences and platforms.
“Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition takes a critically-acclaimed game and adds so much to it with some killer new content, including all the separate add-on packs, and kicking up the presentation to a level that wasn’t possible with technology before. We hope fans of the franchise, both new and old, are going to love this.”
