EA and DICE are today rolling out an extensive update for Battlefield 1, the latest entry in their flagship first-person shooter series.
Amongst a new map, spectator mode and numerous fixes across the board, the patch also addresses a texture resolution issue introduced by title update 1.04 that had caused a degradation in image quality, which was particularly noticeable to PS4 Pro users.
In Battlefield 1’s latest patch’s official notes, DICE states: “Stability and performance is always critical to us, and in this patch we’ve done a number of improvements to ensure a solid gameplay experience,” adding that it had “tweaked dynamic resolution min cap scaling to improve GPU performance over loss of resolution” on consoles.
Additionally, despite not being mentioned in the update notes, the developer has confirmed that a long-running bug that caused users’ games to hang upon selecting the quit button has also been resolved. Taking to Twitter, Battlefield 1’s lead UI/UX designer Erik Ortman stated:
FWIW, Quit Button fix is a thing, however missing in the notes.
