Cyberpunk 2077 Might Run at Native 4K on Xbox One X

There is a lot of hype around Cyberpunk 2077 and the game has made it to the list of Xbox One X-enhanced titles. This might mean that CDPR is ready to talk more about the game soon or reveal a release date. I think that the game might be able to run at 4K on the Xbox One X.

Previously, we thought that this would not be the case, keeping in mind the high system specification of the PC that was running the demo. If you do not recall then let me remind you that the system used the following hardware:

  • Nvidia GTX 1080TI – 11.3 TFLOPs
  • Samsung 960 Pro 512 GB M.2 PCIe
  • G.Skill Ripjaws V, 2x16GB, 3000MHz, CL15
  • Intel i7-8700K @ 3.70 GHz

While the display was a 4K panel, the game was only running at 1080p 30 FPS. This is not good, keeping in mind that the GTX 1080 Ti was the top of the line card that Nvidia had to offer at the time. Seeing how the game has made its way to the Xbox One X enhancements list, it is possible that CDPR has worked with Microsoft to optimize the game for the Xbox One X.

The PS4 Pro is able to deliver 4.20 TFLOPS and the Xbox One X is able to deliver 6.0 TFLOPS of performance. While the Xbox One X is only able to output half the power of the GTX 1080 Ti, I have confidence in CDPR and I am pretty sure that the team will be able to deliver as it has in the past.

If you are interested in checking out all the games on the list then you should go to the official website. CDPR has done a great job providing support for their games on the Xbox One X. Not only have they optimized The Witcher 3 for the worlds most powerful console but the team has also optimized The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings. That is some serious dedication.

We don’t know for sure when Cyberpunk 2077 is going to release but rumours would have us believe that it should be out before the end of 2019. Let us know what you think about the game.
