Final Fantasy 7 Remake was announced at E3 more than two years ago and fans are concerned that the game might be in development hell, or something similar. That is a long time for a remake and fans have every right to be concerned about a franchise that they hold so near and dear. The devs, however, don’t want you to worry at all.
Tetsuya Nomura talked about the development of the game in a recent interview and he reassured the fans that development is going according to plans. The following is what he had to say in this regard:
“As I said during E3, development is going favorably. I just wanted to say that the current PR priority is Kingdom Hearts III, as it was during the ARTNIA event the other day, but after that it’ll be Final Fantasy VII Remake, so please don’t worry. It has nothing to do with Dissidia Final Fantasy.”
This is not the first time that a game in the franchise has taken so long. So I, for one, am not surprised that it is taking the devs so long to develop the game. It is also worth mentioning that the game is not in active development so it could actually take a few more years for the game to be released.
The fans have the right to be concerned about the game but unless the devs actively develop the game, there is little that we can do. We will have to wait for Kingdom Hearts III to come out before we can even talk about the release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. It will be interesting to see what the game will have to offer when it comes out.
The fans are really hyped up about the game and it would be disappointing if all the wait is for nothing or nothing special.
