Mortal Kombat 11 has not been officially confirmed but we have had plenty of rumors that hinted that the game was being developed. Now, we have a major leak that gives us some specifics about the game. According to the leak, Mortal Kombat 11 will be announced at The Game Awards 2018, which is just around the corner.

The leak mentions that the game has been in development for 4 years, which is the longest development cycle in the history of the franchise and could point to something big coming your way. It seems that the game will have an adventure mode which you can play in co-op mode with a friend. This might be something similar to what we saw in Shaolin Monks but this is not something that we can confirm at this point in time.

Mortal Kombat 11 will also have a story mode which will be separate from the adventure mode. What we know about the story is that Raiden is punishing anyone that is trying to pose a threat to earth. Emperor Liu Kang and empress Kitana are looking for an ancient relic and Shang Tsung along with Reiko have made a deal with Kotal Kahn to protect and rule outworld.

The leak mentions that Mortal Kombat XI is going to be based on the new Unreal Engine 4 which provide major upgrades in terms of graphics and should be able to take advantage of the new hardware that is available right now, provided that it is coming out for the current generation consoles.

An image of the game was also leaked and you can check it out. Playable characters include Fujin but unfortunately, Johnny Cage, Goro, Sonya, Kano, Baraka, Mileena and Ferratorr will not be playable. The game has not been announced and this is a rumor so do take all this information with a grain of salt. For more news and updates regarding Mortal Kombat 11 stay tuned.
