Top 10 Most Anticipated Games of 2019

Most Anticipated Games 2019

2018 has been a great year for gaming. We had plenty of great games and we hope that 2019 will be even better. We have a pretty great lineup for the year and here we are going to look into the top 10 most anticipated games of 2019. Some games are new entries to older franchises while others are brand new.

1. Anthem

Bioware is well-known for making great single-player RPG games but this time the developer is working on an online multiplayer game like Destiny. There have been a couple of videos that have shown us what the game will be like and there is going to be a demo as well. Anthem is a new game and is based on the games as a service model. This means that content will be pushed for months to come and that this will be a long-term game.

The game looks promising indeed and we will have to wait and see what the final game will be like. If you wanted to have an Ironman suit of your own then this is the game that you will want to play. Anthem is going to release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on February 22nd.

2. Code Vein

Code Vein is another new game that is coming in 2018 and is one of the most anticipated games. It is an anime-style action RPG Hiroshi Yoshimura, the same person that brought us God Eater. People have compared this upcoming game to Dark Souls and that is something that we do not take lightly.

All things considered, there is a lot of hype around Code Vein and it will be interesting to see what the final product is like. Like Dark Souls, the game focuses on exploring areas, one-on-one fights and difficult bosses.

3. Control

Remedy Entertainment, which is well-known for games such as Alan Wake and Quantum Break is back with another game called Control. The third-person action adventure game was revealed at E3 2018 during the Sony conference and some aspects of the game look similar to Quantum Break.

The trailer was short and we saw a woman armed with an advanced futuristic weapon and telekinetic abilities. The world that she was exploring seemed to be shapeshifting which is fascinating. We do not know much about the game right now but should learn more once we are into 2019.

4. Crackdown 3

Crackdown 3 has been delayed multiple times and even though it was supposed to release in 2016, Microsoft has confirmed that the game will be coming to PC and Xbox One in February. The open world game is all about chaos and destructible environments. If you like to cause a bit of mayhem then this is the kind of game that you want to be playing.

The development process is a long story but what we can tell you is that the game is going to have a campaign mode and a multiplayer aspect as well. There is a lot of hype around the title as fans have been waiting for it to release for a long time.

5. Days Gone

Days Gone is a PlayStation exclusive zombie-apocalypse adventure game that is set in Pacific Northwest. You play as a bounty hunter and fight your way through hordes of zombies that will eat you alive. Things aren’t as easy as pointing and shooting.

You will need to trap zombies at choke points and be strategic about your moves otherwise the enormous hordes will overwhelm you. While a single zombie is not much of a challenge, when they come at you in massive numbers is what you are going to have trouble dealing with. The game will release on April 26th for the PlayStation 4.

6. Devil May Cry 5

It has been years since we got a Devil May Cry game but in 2019 we have Devil May Cry 5 in which Nero and Dante will come back together to hunt done some demon. There is a new character called V that will also be playable and we also have Nico, who is not playable but will help Nero on his journey.

Nero is all grown up and is actually in his prime. He has lost his arm and is going after the demon that took it. We have seen the demo of the game and it seems very impressive indeed. DMC is all about fast and stylish combat and DMC5 is no different. The game will be coming out on PC, Xbox One and PS4 on March 8th.

7. The Division 2

The Division 2 is the second game in the franchise and this time Ubisoft takes us to Washington, D.C instead of New York. The third-person online shooter not only has a campaign but plenty of end game content as well. You can choose to do all this solo or team up with a couple of friends.

If you have played the previous game then you will want to give this one a shot as well. The Division 2 is coming to PC, Xbox One and PS4 on March 15th.

8. Gears 5

Gears 5 is the second Gears of War game from The Coalition and this time the lead character is Kait Diaz. The story revolves around her trying to find the truth about the Locust invaders. Characters from previous games Marcus Fenix and HD are also part of the story and will aid Kait on her mission.

The third-person shooter offers a wide range of locations and vehicles that you can use. If you have played the previous games then you should check out this one as well. There is no confirmed release date for Gears 5 but it should be out sometime in 2019.

9. Metro Exodus

Metro Exodus is the new entry in the series that will be coming out this year. This was the first game to announce support for Nvidia RTX real-time ray tracing and it will be interesting to see what kind of effects we will get in-game. We have seen some demos and videos but we have to check out the final version of the game to reach a verdict.

4A Games takes us to post-apocalyptic Moscow and this time the game is pretty open as compared to the previous games that were linear. This is one of the most anticipated games of the year and will release on February 22nd for PC, Xbox One and PS4.

10. Mortal Kombat 11

Mortal Kombat series co-creator Ed Boon just revealed Mortal Kombat 11 at The Game Awards 2018 so the announcement is relatively new and that is why we have little information about the game. In the trailer, we did see Raiden and Scorpion going at each other and even though Scorpion does die another version of him manages to win. As is the theme in Mortal Kombat game trailers, Scorpion always wins.

Boon has promised that more information will be revealed in 2019 and that he would talk about custom character variations, something that we have already seen in Injustice 2, another similar game from NetherRealm. It will be interesting to see what this new game will have in store for us. Mortal Kombat 11 is expected to release on April 23rd and will come to PC, Xbox One, PS4 and the Nintendo Switch.

Honorable Mention: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

FromSoftware is well-known for the Souls games and BloodBourne but this time the developer is working on a new title that is based in old Japan. The game focuses on stealth and while the combat is free-flowing, the weapons are limited.

The grappling hook and ariel combat are going to play a major role in the game from what we have seen so far. If you have played the Souls game and are interested in checking out something different from the same developer then this is what you should check out. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is going to release on PS4, Xbox One and PC on 22nd March.

These are the top 10 most anticipated games of 2019. These games are in no particular order and the list comprises of titles that we think are the most anticipated and have a lot of hype around them. Let us know which games you think we have missed that should have been on this list.
