The Division 2 is getting closer to release with each passing day but there is a bit of confusion regarding the free DLC. Ubisoft announced at E3 2018 that the first year of content will be free but we have seen that there is a season pass that you get with the deluxe version of the game which is not included with the standard edition. This has created some confusion regarding The Division 2 and which DLC aspects will be free for the fans that get the standard edition.
Senior Producer Tony Sturtzel explained that there is a lot of content that is being developed for the endgame of Division 2 and that they are taking an end-game-first approach for the game. The mentioned that much of the content will be free for players that have bought the game. The following is what he had to say regarding the matter:
There definitely will be more modes added as free post-launch content. Our current goal is to ship this game with a few maps uniquely built for the best PvP experiences. Our decision to create from an endgame-first mentality means that fans can expect more content drops in the future after completing the campaign. Additional story-driven missions and map expansions will also be free as our ongoing commitment to keep our dedicated community energized and playing
Ubisoft took a lot of time to release post-launch content for the previous game but it is great to see that the developers have learned for their mistakes and that The Division 2 will have plenty of free DLC. With the game only a few weeks from release, Ubisoft has started releasing videos that provide details regarding the different aspects of the game.
Players that have pre-ordered the game will be able to take part in the private beta. There might be an open beta as well later on and if that is the case then more people will be able to test the game before release. We will keep you updated regarding the Division 2, so stay tuned for more information and news regarding the game.
