Anthem has had its fair share of issues since it launched and the most recent is the damage bug. It turns out that the starting gun is able to deal more damage than some of the endgame weapons. Bioware responded to this issue by claiming that this is a bug.
Technical design director Brenon Holmes touched on the matter and he mentioned that this could be a bug in the balancing where lower level players are scaled to match higher level players that are in the same team. Anthem community manager Andrew Johnson mentioned that there was a bug that affected the default gun. The following is what he had to say in this regard:
I have confirmed with the team that this is in fact a bug related specifically to the default items on a loadout in combination with higher level gear you have equipped. It’s not functioning as intended and the team is working on it for an upcoming fix.
All this is proof that the game was indeed rushed and it seems that Bioware has forgotten how to make an RPG in the first place. There is something fishy that has happened behind the scenes that we do not know about.
Multiple users have reported that Anthem is bricking the PS4 and the game keeps crashing on the console. This had led to plenty of issues and Sony had decided to refund the game on PS4 for those who want their money back. I did play the game on PC and the initial impressions were not all that great.
