Child of Light is a great game and fans love it. If you were interested in playing a sequel of the game then, unfortunately, it seems that Child of Light 2 is not in development right now. The director of the game Plourde teased a possible sequel in a recent tweet but he clarified that he is not working on it.
Plourde mentioned that he is not working on the game but Ubisoft is a big company and it is possible that it is in the works somewhere in the company. The following is what he had to say in this regard:
I don’t know if there’s a Child of Light 2 that is in production, Ubisoft is big, but I’m not working on it. Right now, I don’t think there’s a Child of Light 2 being produced… I’m not holding my breath.
Plourde did tease what seemed like part of a script but it seems like he regrets sharing that with the fans. He mentioned that there is an idea of where Child of Light 2 would be set and what the story would be like. The following is what he had to say about the plot:
I know the major beats, the location, and that it would feature multiple protagonists. It would have two protagonists going on different paths in life with different motivations, linked by their friendship.
It does seem like a rather interesting game. Plourde might not be working on it right now but that does not mean that he will not work on it in the future. Ubisoft might give him the opportunity to do so once the company is done working on other games.
In other news, Ubisoft might be announcing a new Splinter Cell game at E3 2019. The company has also given away free copies of Assassin’s Creed Unity and was forced to increase server capacity for the game years after the initial release.
Let us know what you think about Child of Light 2 not being in development and whether or not you would be interested in playing the game if it ever came out.
