Xbox Game Pass Coming to PC at E3 2019

Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service that allows Xbox One users to play hundreds of games each month. Each month, new games are added to the library and some are removed. You can think of it as Netflix for games. First-party Microsoft games are available via the Xbox Game Pass at launch and this is a service that the fans have loved. While this was exclusive to the Xbox One, Phil Spencer has now confirmed that the service is coming to PC as well.

The Play Anywhere feature allowed PC gamers to play games that they had bought on the Xbox but less than 20 titles that are available on the Xbox Game Pass support that feature. According to Spencer, more than 100 games will be available on PC via the Game Pass and more than 75 developers are on board. Here is what he had to say about the service:

We researched whether a similar opportunity exists for PC players and PC game developers, and we believe that it does. We also considered the importance of bringing something new and additive to the PC gaming ecosystem, and we believe that we can. So, we designed a service specifically for the needs of PC gamers and PC game developers. It’s called Xbox Game Pass, just like the original, but it’s a new experience that we are building together with the PC community.

Xbox Game Pass for PC is going to be a great initiative and fans have been asking for such a service for a while now. There is no release date but we will be able to learn more about the service at E3 2019. Microsoft is making a gaming ecosystem and we can see that much clearly now. Implementation on PC is going to be a vital factor and it will be interesting to see how that is going to be pulled off.
