Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Will Have New Stories That Are Not Part Of The Manga

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot was revealed at E3 2019 and it was one of the major highlights of the event. This is going to be an open world RPG game. Fans are excited about the game but some think that the content and story will be similar to the previous Dragon Ball games.

Series creator Akira Toriyama talked about the matter and he mentioned that in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot players will be able to experience new stories. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has some backstories that are not part of the manga. Toriyama claims that players will be able to take a deep dive into the world.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will offer modern visuals and a fresh take on the story. Here is what Toriyama had to say regarding the matter:

It’s a fresh new take on the franchise as you re-live the moment where Goku discovers his Saiyan bloodline and his birth name, Kakarot. Experience the battles as they grow to become more and more unrelenting and fierce through cutting edge visuals. I hope you enjoy the game!

It is confirmed that these new stories that will be part of the game are canon. It will be interesting to see how these are incorporated into the game. The official description of the game mentions that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will include “never-before-seen story moments”. These moments will answer some of the questions that fans have regarding the lore of DBZ.

All this seems very interesting indeed. The game releases for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in early 2020. It could even get enhancements for the Xbox Scarlett and PS5 but that has not been confirmed yet.
