Doktor’s Curse Is A Reason To Return To Rainbow Six Siege

Right now there’s a Halloween event going on in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege called Doktor’s Curse. The event completely changes the game, and I’d go as far as saying that it’s a reason to return if you’re a lapsed payer. Check out the trailer for the event below and read on for more details.

As you can tell from the trailer, Doktor’s Curse is very different to standard Rainbow Six Siege, and that’s why I’ve come back to the game. I love Rainbow Six Siege, I think it offers a lot to players, from tactics and accurate shooting to a fair progression system. However, the games can become too similar for some players, and I’m afraid I’m one of them. It’s not that I got bored with Rainbow Six Siege, it’s just that there are so many other games to try that I felt that I was wasting opportunities for new experiences.

From the 23rd of October until the 3rd of November however, I’ll be playing Rainbow Six Siege once again. Doktor’s Curse introduces a new game mode that pits four monsters against three humans in a unique game of hide and seek. While the Exterminators, who are the attackers, must hunt and kill the four monsters. The monsters are unique to Doktor’s Curse, while the Exterminators have familiar abilities to certain Operators from Rainbow Six Siege proper. The monsters include Smoke, a hybrid creature from the sewers, Kapkan, a reaper who lives for the dark, Frost, who wants to eat humans, Lesion, who wants to eat human brains, and Ela, who wants to wear your skin.

Unlike normal Rainbow Six Siege, in Doktor’s Curse the Attackers only have a Breaching Hammer and the choice of one of three gadgets. Those gadgets are Jackal’s Eyenox Model 3, Lion’s EE-ONE-D, and Pulse’s Cardiac Sensor. Defenders, the monsters, on the other hand will have the ability that players are used to seeing on them in the main game, as well as a secondary power called Nightstride, which lets them turn invisible for a short period of time.

The gear you can earn from this event looks horrific, and that’s why I’ll be playing the game so much. Check out the gear below and read on for more.

Why Return to Rainbow Six Siege for Doktor’s Curse?

Halloween is a great time in games when there are many different events on, from Overwatch to Rocket League, there’s barely a game out there that isn’t offering something different. Rainbow Six Siege offers a refreshing game mode and brand new gear to earn, all of which is limited to a two week window. I know that I’ll probably drop back away from the game after these two weeks are done, but for the first time all year I’m excited to be playing Rainbow Six Siege again.

You may feel the same about Rocket League or Overwatch, exhausted by playing the same thing over and over, but wanting to play all the same. These events give us all a reason to return to the games we love and enjoy them like they’re new and fresh once again. Ubisoft is particularly good at providing these events to the Rainbow six community, and I’m sure they help to bring in new players too.
