A brand new collectors edition of Dead Cells has been revealed, and it looks incredible. The Dead Cells Prisoner’s Edition is being released in celebration of the game’s first paid expansion, The Bad Seed. It’s certainly one of the most extravagant collectors editions I’ve ever seen, but everything it comes with feels worth the money at £89.99. Check out the trailer, yes a trailer, for the Prisoner’s Edition below and read on for more details.
Dead Cells Prisoner’s Edition Contents
To start with this edition comes with Dead Cells Action Game of the Year Edition, which is fully updated with everything released for the game so far. That edition comes with a bonus keychain and artbook, so we already have those. Next there are four metallic stickers, and three enamel pins to use as you wish, I don’t understand pins personally. The Prisoner’s Edition also comes with an art card, a seven inch vinyl soundtrack, collector’s metal tin, and a DLC code for The Bad Seed. The greatest collectors item might just be the eight and a half inch prisoner figure though, particularly because it comes wielding a frying pan.
This edition can be pre-ordered from Signature Edition Games right now, available on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The first 500 pre-orders get a special coin that is part of the company’s early pre-order incentive scheme, something not everyone who buys this edition will get. It’s worth noting that the stock of these Prisoner’s Editions is being limited to 10,000 copies. Now that might sound like a lot, but you need to remember that this is a very popular game, with millions of fans around the world. The simple fact that it’s limited, and that you get a numbered edition too, makes it instantly more valuable, something you could sell in the future for quite a lot of money.
I love Dead Cells for its beautiful blend of souls genre and rougelike mechanics. Players fight their way through dungeons that change every time they die, unlocking new weapons and loadouts with each visit. There’s nothing else quite like it out there, and The Bad Seed adds even more content to smash through in your time with it. Let us know if you’re going to pre-order this edition in the comments.
