Last week the official Crysis Twitter account teased something. At the time we didn’t want to report on it, because we weren’t sure if it was going to be a bogus piece of news, an announcement for Crysis 4, or something else.

Personally, I was hoping that this awesome Crysis co-op mod was going to be made official, but we can all dream. Crysis 4 would also have been nice, but the actual news that this tease related to is also pretty darn incredible.
Crysis Remastered Is Coming Soon
The actual news that this tease was for was of course Crysis Remastered. For years now, Crysis fans have been asking for a remastered version of the original game, the one that started it all. I got into the Crysis series with Crysis 2, and it’s not only a joy to play, it’s a game that you have to keep coming back to because it’s just that good. The Crysis series is just like that though, polished to the point that it’s more than just great fun to play, it’s essential.
As if the game being remastered wasn’t enough, Crytek also announced that they’re going to be bringing it to Nintendo Switch. The hybrid console has some amazing games already available for it, but this would be the icing on the cake as far as first person shooters are concerned. If the game also packs in some sort of multiplayer mode, outside of the awesome co-op mod concept I already mentioned, it could be the best shooter game on Switch.
One thing that’s always let handheld consoles down in the past is the lack of shooters. They require precise controls that developers haven’t seemed to be able to get to grips with on the PSP, DS family, or even the PS Vita. Hopefully Crysis Remastered can set a brand new standard for handheld shooters, and just be an all around unstoppable force of joy, when it launches.
We’re trying to keep the good news from the gaming world in your timeline during these troubling times. If you enjoyed this look at the amazing Crysis Remastered news, check out some more good news articles here.
