Fallout Friday: Keep An Eye On Fallout 4 Sim Settlements 2

I love Fallout 4. In fact I love the franchise, and everything that Bethesda seems to put out around it. Now though, my attention has been captured by a new mod. That mod is Fallout 4 Sim Settlements. In itself, this mod is brilliant, but it’s the trailer for the sequel, which has a story, that has captured my heart. Check it out below.

I’m not sure if you can tell, but this mod trailer is actually for some full blown story DLC for Fallout 4. It’s going to add in a reason for the Fallout 4 Sim Settlements content, and give you a reason to continue playing. It looks like there’s a new faction, more items to have built, new areas to explore, and maybe even more than that.

This isn’t all that the mod brings with it though. At a base level, Sim Settlements is a really fantastic mod. It allows you to purchase lots in a settlement, and assign structures to be built there. This will then lead to your settlers actually building everything for you, providing you have the materials and resources. It even adds in new skills for those settlers, which can be expanded as they build more items for you.

I can’t express how awesome this is. Usually in Fallout 4 you need to build an entire settlement by yourself. Sure, you can assign jobs like farming to settlers, but unless you build everything for them to work on, they’re just not going to do it. With this mod, they’ll actively look to put the settlement together, and then work together to build a community.

The mod author hasn’t actually released that many details about this sequel though. From what we’re seeing, I’m hoping that things are slightly more advanced. It seems like there could be a tutorial that fits in with explaining how to get settlers to build things for you, and a quest that sends you off to find new factions that have built themselves up as settlements elsewhere. There’s so much scope for this mod, and I can’t see anyone saying they don’t want to play it. This is one you almost certainly need to keep an eye on.
