Start 2021 With A Brand New Game

There’s no denying that 2020 was a crazy year. However, we’re now officially into 2021, which means that it’s the start of a brand new year. I’m not a huge fan of new year’s resolutions, mainly because you can make a resolution and start it on any day of the year. What I do think is a good idea though, is picking up a brand new game for the new year so that you can broaden your horizons. There’s no better excuse to start a new gaming obsession than the start of a new year. The game might last you a week or a month, but it could extend to last you all through the coming year.

For me, this new game is going to be Immortals: Fenyx Rising. It’s a Ubisoft game that looks awesome. It’s on all platforms, and I can move my saves between them. It’s perfect for the way that I play games, and it’s something completely unique from the company. This isn’t the latest release in a series, it’s a new IP, and that’s why I’m excited to pick it up and run with it in 2021.

Ubisoft has planned loads of DLC for the game, so I’m also picking up the season pass. This guarantees me about 100 hours of play time, and I don’t think that includes completing literally everything the game has to offer. I think I’d barely be scratching the surface, particularly with the way I play open-world games.

For you, this could be any game. There are always new releases coming out, and January already has a packed schedule. One option that might be worth it for all you Switch fans is Monster Hunter Rise. The game is a brand new entry in the Monster Hunter franchise, and looks like it’ll have a lot of longevity to it.

What you should look for is a game that’s got legs. One that you could easily replay, but also one that will be getting free updates with new content to explore months into the future. That’s the best kind of game to start in 2021, at least in my opinion.
